Subject Vision
At St Mary’s, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and RHE (Relationships and Health Education) are at the heart of our curriculum. These subjects equip every child with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Through PSHE and RHE, we nurture emotional resilience, social responsibility, and physical well-being, while ensuring children understand how to stay safe—both offline and online. Our curriculum empowers pupils to form healthy relationships, embrace diversity, and recognise their unique role in shaping a fair and sustainable global society.
We aim to inspire confident, compassionate individuals who make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.
Our approach includes:
- Discovery Education’s Health and Relationships programme
- ProjectEVOLVE for online safety
- Inclusive enrichment opportunities such as Forest School, sports partnerships, and creative clubs
Statutory Compliance: Our PSHE and RHE curriculum meets all statutory requirements, including the Department for Education’s guidance on Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), and Health Education.
