At St Mary’s, we use the Language Angels scheme of work and resources to deliver a foreign languages curriculum that is relevant, broad, vibrant, and ambitious. Our aim is to inspire and excite KS2 pupils through a rich variety of engaging topics and themes. We foster high expectations and excellent standards, encouraging every pupil to reach their full potential in language learning.
Our ultimate goal is for pupils to develop a genuine interest and positive curiosity about foreign languages, finding the learning experience both enjoyable and stimulating.
To ensure continued excellence, our curriculum content is regularly updated and reviewed annually, forming a dynamic programme of study clearly reflected in both long-term and short-term planning. This approach guarantees that pupils’ foreign language knowledge progresses consistently each academic year, building cumulatively throughout the primary phase. In doing so, our curriculum remains relevant and aligned with, or exceeding, national DfE requirements.
