Our School Menu

At St Mary’s, we believe that healthy food fuels healthy learning. Our school meals are freshly prepared on-site each day and offer a nutritious, balanced selection of dishes that help children stay focused, energised, and ready for their learning.

We work closely with our catering team to ensure that our menus are varied, seasonal, and enjoyable for all pupils – with plenty of fruit, vegetables, and wholesome ingredients built into every week.

Healthy Packed Lunches

We understand that some families prefer to send their child with a packed lunch. To help us promote a healthy school environment, we ask that packed lunches follow simple, supportive guidelines:

  • Include a balance of fruit, vegetables, protein, and whole grains
  • Limit sugary snacks and avoid sweets or chocolate
  • Choose water as the main drink
  • Keep portions age‑appropriate

A healthy lunch helps children stay alert throughout the day and supports their overall wellbeing and development. Our aim is not perfection but partnership – working together to build habits that benefit children now and in the future.

Allergy Awareness and Safe Eating

St Mary’s is a nut‑free school, and we ask all families to support this essential safeguard. Keeping our children safe is a collective responsibility, and we are proud of the strong culture of care within our school community.

To help us protect pupils with allergies:

  • Do not include any nut products in packed lunches
  • Check ingredient lists on cereal bars, spreads, biscuits, and snacks
  • Remind your child not to share food with others
  • Inform the school immediately of any new or changing allergy information

Our catering team prepares all meals in line with strict food safety standards and can accommodate a range of dietary needs. If your child requires a medical or cultural dietary adjustment, please speak to the school office so we can ensure their needs are fully met.
