Ofsted
We received our first official OFSTED inspection as an academy in September 2014.
The Academy will be subject to two types of inspection. One under Section 5 of the relevant Education Act covers most aspects of the schools work whilst the second under Section 48 of the same Act covers the teaching of R E, the quality of collective worship and the ethos of the school.
We encourage our families to make comments on the Ofsted parent sections. It is important that inspectors get a full picture of our academy so please highlight both what we do well and what we need to improve.

What inspection judgements mean
| Grade | Judgement | Description |
| Grade 1 | Outstanding | An outstanding school is highly effective in delivering outcomes that provide exceptionally well for all its pupils’ needs. This ensures that pupils are very well equipped for the next stage of their education, training or employment. |
| Grade 2 | Good | A good school is effective in delivering outcomes that provide well for all its pupils’ needs. Pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education, training or employment. |
| Grade 3 | RequiresImprovement | A school that requires improvement is not yet a good school, but it is not inadequate. This school will receive a full inspection within 24 months from the date of this inspection. |
| Grade 4 | Inadequate | A school that has serious weaknesses is inadequate overall and requires significant improvement but leadership and management are judged to be Grade 3 or better. This school will receive regular monitoring by Ofsted inspectors.
A school that requires special measures is one where the school is failing to give its pupils an acceptable standard of education and the school’s leaders, managers or governors have not demonstrated that they have the capacity to secure the necessary improvement in the school. It is our goal to raise standards to the point where we can confidently grade ourselves as “Good” in all areas by the end of 2016/17 and thereafter to move towards outstanding.
Ofsted – Who we are and what we do
Every week, we carry out hundreds of inspections and regulatory visits throughout England, and publish the results on our website. Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. We report directly to Parliament and we are independent and impartial.
We inspect and regulate services which care for children and young people, and those providing education and skills for learners of all ages.
