Building Learning Power days at St Mary's
Working with Christchurch CE school in Folkestone
The teachers at St Mary's have been working alongside staff at Christchurch School to learn more about BLP (Building Learning Power).
The idea is that pupils learn to work collaboratively in different learning situations, it is fun, educational and offers the pupils the challenge of having to solve problems for themselves and makes them responsible for their learning. BLP fits in well with the Seal project work that we do throughout the school.
Most of the pictures below have been taken by the pupils in the Newsreporting group.

French
The children were learning well and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Also they were answering question after question and obviously listened to the teacher because they got the questions right and they sometimes answered in French. Elisha says they learned quickly.

Exploring Paint
They were also enjoying the artwork they had done and had done quite a lot. We interviewed a girl called Nicole and she says, ‘’ I really like doing sponge painting!’’. The teachers were also having a good time while they were painting.

Making Cars
Miss Bryan was doing making cars. Ruby and Sophie says, ‘’ It’s terrible and confusing!’’ They enjoyed it and also Mr Morsia says, ‘’ No comment!’’. I suppose it was hard because they had to make it out of paper!
